About The Photographer

Since retiring as a Professor of Dance for 40 years I rediscovered my creative outlet of photography. As far back as the 1980s, when I displayed and sold some of my photos, I have been taking photographs. My photographs illustrate exactly what I saw when I took them; they have not been altered.

My photographs come from France, Finland, Florida, Oregon, California, New York, Connecticut, and Arizona. They are categorized into four themes; Nature, Water, Flowers, and Buildings. Two photos have been selected and shown in gallery competitions. Family, the small and larger mushrooms, was taken in Crandall Park in Tolland Connecticut and is currently exhibited in the on line gallery of Ten Moir Gallery in Kansas City, MO, December 2024. Reflection, is the sunset reflected off of the glass of the bus stop in Chaudenay-la-ville, Burgundy, France was exhibited in the Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis, MN, February-March 2023. Both Family and Reflection can be seen at the end of the Nature page. Six canvas pieces are hung in La Baguette Parisienne bakery in Tucson, AZ. Three canvas prints were exhibited at the Black Box Gallery in Portland Oregon in 2022. My photographs will be on exhibit in the Lake Oswego Oregon Public Library for the month of July, 2023. This photo of Notre Dame and the stained glass window inside were taken just a year before the fire. The photo of the rainbow over Lake Päijänne was taken in Jyvaskyla, Finland in 2024.

My photographs may be purchased as canvas wall art in various sizes or as photographic prints. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing which art pieces fit for you. I'm Nelson at Nelson8987@gmail.com.
